Daren Wilson, Co-founder and Senior Partner

Daren Wilson co-founded HealthSeed AG, a Swiss healthcare commercialisation firm working with medtech, diagnostics, and digital health companies entering and scaling in European markets.

He spent more than twenty years in global pharmaceutical commercial leadership before founding HealthSeed, including general management roles across multiple geographies at Roche, Novartis, and Merck, and led product launches at multi-billion-dollar scale. In Slovakia he ran a reimbursement campaign that ended in a change to national legislation, which remains the clearest example of the thing he now advises on: that market access is won upstream of the transaction, in the terms the payer is willing to write down.

At Roche he founded HealthCare Lab, a startup accelerator, which is where the work he does now started. He continues to advise and mentor founders building in regulated healthcare.

He writes Vital Signs: AI Healthcare, Vital Signs: BioTech, Vital Signs: HealthTech, and Vital Signs: AI Drug Discovery, HealthSeed's intelligence programme covering European regulation, reimbursement, evidence strategy, and the gap between an approved product and a paying customer.

He speaks on artificial intelligence in healthcare and on drug discovery. At Deep Tech Atelier in Riga on 15 May 2026 he gave the keynote “The Agentic Organ: What Happens When AI, Biology, and Robotics Converge Inside the Body”, and sat on the jury of the event’s startup pitch competition. He has spoken on a panel on AI drug discovery at HealthVC.

He is based in Zurich.
