HealthSeed and MIA Solutions form a joint venture to bring ZINOS to hospitals
A hospital research unit running trials for six or seven sponsors can face up to fifty different systems, and almost none of them belong to the hospital. ZINOS puts one system inside the institution, under the institution's own control.

Zurich and Bratislava, 10 September 2026. HealthSeed AG, a Swiss healthcare venture studio, and MIA Solutions s.r.o., a Slovak clinical trial technology company, today announced a joint venture to bring ZINOS to hospital research units globally, with a launch focus on Europe and the Middle East and North Africa. ZINOS is the clinical site operating system for hospital research units. It replaces the fragmented set of sponsor-issued systems a research unit runs today with one platform deployed on the hospital's own infrastructure, so that trial operations and the data they generate stay inside the institution. ZINOS currently operates under HealthSeed AG, which is the contracting party for the business, pending incorporation of the joint venture company in Switzerland.
A hospital research unit running trials for six or seven sponsors can face up to fifty different systems, and almost none of them belong to the hospital. Every sponsor arrives with its own data capture tool and its own portal, each carrying its own credentials, and the site absorbs the reconciliation work between them. The investigator site file sits apart from the case report form, which sits apart from the trial master file, and the record of how the research actually ran is scattered across systems the institution does not control and cannot query. ZINOS is one central command centre for the site, and it manages the connections to the other systems rather than adding another login to the pile.
That claim rests on the deployment model. ZINOS installs on the hospital's own infrastructure, on-premise, in the cloud, or hybrid, and the hospital retains its patient clinical data on its own systems. Sponsors and monitors receive scoped access to what they are entitled to see, without research data leaving the hospital perimeter, on a federated and EHDS-aligned architecture. Nothing is pooled into a central patient data lake held by a vendor.
Inside the hospital, ZINOS unifies the investigator site file, the case report form, and the trial master file on a protocol-first data model, so that one audit trail covers the work instead of several partial ones. The platform is built to EMA Annex 11 and 21 CFR Part 11 expectations, is ICH GCP-aligned, is built to GAMP 5 and validation-ready, and enforces ALCOA+ through system control rather than through procedure. It is database-agnostic and operating-system agnostic, carries native DICOM and whole slide imaging, and brings nine source types under one governed layer. Updates deploy to every installation in under four minutes.
The software ZINOS brings to market was developed by MIA Solutions over ten years inside clinical hospitals, with the clinical investigators and site nurses who run the trials. MIA Solutions, founded in Bratislava in 2011, continues to lead product development.
Regulation is moving site-level data control from a preference towards a procurement requirement in both launch regions. In Europe the direction is documented. ICH E6(R3) took effect in the EU on 23 July 2025 and pushes risk-based quality management and data governance down to the hospital site, with Annex 2, covering decentralised and pragmatic trials and real-world data, adopted by the CHMP on 25 June 2026 and coming into effect on 15 January 2027. The European Health Data Space Regulation (EU) 2025/327 entered into force on 26 March 2025 and applies from 26 March 2027, with the secondary-use provisions following from 26 March 2029, so hospitals are now planning against a framework in which their research data is an asset with a governance regime attached. The EU Clinical Trials Regulation and CTIS, and the EU AI Act, add further operational obligations that land on the site rather than on the sponsor. Health systems across the Middle East and North Africa are moving the same way, under national health data strategies and residency rules that expect research data to stay in the country where it is generated.
The operational record that accumulates as trials run, covering amendments, enrolment velocity, activation timing, and exception patterns, is the venture's second act. Over time that record forms a governed research data foundation the institution owns and can use to answer questions about its own research performance, which is the direction of the product rather than a capability available today.
The founding shareholders of the joint venture company will be HealthSeed AG and MIA Solutions s.r.o. Incorporation in Switzerland is in progress, and until it completes, HealthSeed AG contracts, invoices, and holds the commercial relationship in its own name, with ZINOS as a business designation. Daren Wilson leads the ZINOS business and is designated chief executive of the joint venture company on incorporation. ZINOS is going to market in Europe and the MENA region in parallel.
